Permission To Unfollow Anyone You Want Too

Hello all,

This a public service announcement. We are already in our forth month of the year! This year is both flying by and slowing down, with the current pandemic at large. I am turning 20 this year… I know, crazy right. There are still so many things that I want to achieve before this year ends and many goals I still want to smash (particularly the goals around my mental state – since a lot of my physical goals have been put on hold). However, I thought that I would write about a topic that has been on my mind in recent weeks. It came up in my thoughts whilst I was browsing through Twitter, actually. A post came up about refusing to let negative energy drag you down during quarantine (not sure exactly what it said, but it was along those lines – or at least the concept was). It got me thinking; what small changes can I make to my life that can release negative energy that surfaces in a time like this. Continue reading “Permission To Unfollow Anyone You Want Too”

My Grammy Hopes & Predictions 2019/20

IMG_9022

Hello all,

So basically I am not going to lie to you. I was under the impression that the Grammys were much later than today! I had hoped to write this post as the date was approaching… although my first mistake was failing to actually check the date that the ceremony was being held. Nonetheless, I will keep this short, because all I really want this post to be is a place that has my hopes for the 2020 Grammys and who I would love to see win, before the winners are actually announced. My Top 20 Favourite Albums of 2019

Hello all,

As December begins, it becomes clear that the end of 2019 is approaching us very fast. Now, you may be wondering why I am releasing this blog post now considering December releases are still to come. I decided to leave of December releases since there is only a few that I know about and I don’t want my bias towards certain artists to affect my current listing of albums. So, I decided I would omit December releases for now and maybe edit some into the list at a later date if I feel the need too. Although, I am satisfied with my current top 20 favourites from the rest of the eleven months of this year that have flown by. Continue reading “My Top 20 Favourite Albums of 2019”

In Depth Review Of Harry Styles’ ‘FINE LINE’ (First Impressions)

Hello all,

After months of waiting (not so patiently) for this release, it’s finally here! Harry Styles has released his heavily anticipated second album FINE LINE. Now, when I tell you this was my most anticipated release of 2019, I mean it. Harry Styles is one of my many inspirations and idol figures. He embodies everything I aspire to be. He values kindness, respect and inclusion and I think these values get lost sometimes in the music industry, as it gets more and more saturated. He does not involve himself in drama, stays relatively off social media, values his close friends and lives his best and most authentic life. I think everyone can take a few pointers from that, especially going into the new year of 2020 in 2 weeks time! So what better way than to celebrate Harry and this album than to do a full in depth review (exactly like my review of Lover).

My Top 25 Favourite Albums of The Decade (2010-2019)

Hello all,

So, as we hit October 2019 we can pretty much see the decade slowly coming to a close. It was most certainly a very interesting decade indeed. Especially for music. This decade in music has been been quite astonishing, with more music being created than at any other time in history. I would actually love to know some statistics on that. Music is way to express our humanity and to bring us together. The lyrics and sounds that individuals can create, have the ability to echo a profound impact on society. Music has stood the test of time and looking back and reflecting on all that has come before us, is truly something beautiful. However, I shall give credit where credit is due because we have definitely seen some incredible art created in these recent years. This decade has seen the rise of pop to a new extreme, the creation of revolutionary modern rap, the exploration of new levels of R&B and so much more. No, Striking For Climate Is Not Just For Adults

This post hopefully needs no introduction. I am here to write a small essay on why I believe climate striking is most definitely NOT just for adults. Let’s start with a bit of history. In 1963 Martin Luther King Jr. led a march on Washington for jobs and freedom, in 1913 there was a Women’s Suffrage Parade, The Abolitionist Movement in the 1800’s, the March on Washington for LGBT rights and liberation in 1993. All of these historical movements made history and helped change social values by creating awareness. They all involved active demonstrations, protests or other forms of physical movement. In other words, they did not stand still. We are now living in a time where one of the greatest threats to our way of life is from our climate. The climate is changing at a rapid rate and with scientific backing and while public pressure continues, governments and politicians still remain polarized and passive. 10 Reasons Why You Should Be Watching HBO’s ‘Euphoria’

There is a new show in town and it is commonly known as ‘Euphoria’ and I am just slightly obsessed with it! The new HBO Drama created by Sam Levinson, stars Zendaya, Jacob Elordi and Hunter Schafer. It also features a stunning supporting cast of actors, which for many, is their first mainstream appearance! The show deals with a multitude of themes throughout its 8 episode run, including but not limited to; sexual repression, violence, substance abuse, depression & other mental illnesses and gender identity. It is a groundbreaking and confronting series for many reasons and breaks a lot of traditional barriers that previously produced teenage-themed shows did not engage with.
